Refund steps

Check eligibility and documentsBring your original passport and confirm traveler, item and counter eligibility. Present any required visitor coupon or payment card before checkout.

Register at the shop that dayPay the tax-inclusive price and bring passport, goods, receipts and payment instrument to the designated counter on purchase day. Minimum eligible pre-tax spend is JPY5,000 per store/day.

Obtain export confirmation before refundPurchases from 1 November 2026 use the refund method. Export within 90 days and obtain customs confirmation before checking luggage; the registered method then receives the refund less applicable fees.

Practical tips
- Activate official-app REWARDS at a counter for 5% off eligible items; mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau residents use the official WeChat equivalent. New physical Guest Cards ended on 25 March 2025. Exclusions include food, dining, sale items, items below JPY3,000 before tax and designated brands including Cartier, Chanel, Tiffany and Bvlgari. Other discounts do not stack; eligible tax refunds remain available.
- Register in person on the purchase date with passport, receipts, goods and payment instrument. Refund follows customs approval to the applicant card, Alipay or WeChat Pay. The current page confirms a processing fee but gives no verified numeric tariff here.
- No universal cash rebate has been verified. Visitor discounts, tax refunds and cash rebates are separate; an unknown rebate is not a confirmed 0% or a promise.
- Unknown handling fees are estimated as zero with a warning in comparisons, not confirmed fee-free service. Guide offers do not establish eligibility for every brand or product.
